Chinkara or Indian gazelle is a medium sized gazelle species inhabit more than 80 protected areas in India. Indian gazelle live in arid plains and hills of Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary and preyed upon by wild wolfs, dholes dogs and golden jackal.

Best Time to Visit

Best time to visit Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is from late August to February.
Summer season is hot and humid with high temperature.

Flora and Fauna

Flora and Fauna of Mayureshwar wildlife sanctuary includes Striped Hyena, Indian gray wolf,Indian Jackal, Indian Hare and Indian fox. Birds found in Mayureshwar Chinkara Sanctuary are Chestnut bellied Sandgrouse, Short toed Snake Eagle Owl and Indian peafowl.

The sanctuary remains open for all day but close during the monsoon season.
