Kaziranga National Park is a World Heritage Site and home to the highest density of Bengal Tigers among protected areas of India and hosts largest population of great one-horned rhinoceroses in India.
Most convenient way to reach Kaziranga National Park is flight to Guwahati and proceed to Kohora through a 4-5 hours of road journey. Reach Jorhat by flights from Guwahati and Kolkata and travel to Kohora by road.
Best time to visit Kaziranga is between the months of November and April.
Kohora is the main tourist hub for Kaziranga and well connected to Guwahati and Jorhat by road.
Jeep Safari and Elephant safari in Kaziranga is permitted only for designated circuits.
Elephant Safari – Timings 5:30 am to 6:30 am.
Jeep Safari – Timings: 7.30 AM to 10.00 AM in the morning and 1.30 PM to 3.00 PM in the afternoon.

Kaziranga National Park is home to largest population of one horned rhinoceroses, wild water buffalo and Bengal Tigers. Big Five of Kaziranga are One Horned rhinoceros,Asian Elephant,Royal Bengal Tiger,Wild Water Buffalo and Indian Bison.
The park also has large populations of swamp deer, Leopards, Sloth bear,5 species of wild cats,9 primate species and endangered Ganges dolphin.
