Varanasi also known as Banaras or Kashi is the holiest city in India, also the one of the seven sacred cities and among the oldest living cities in the world, situated on the banks of the Ganges river. Dasaswamedh Ghat is the most colourful and main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga river, located close to Vishwanath Temple. Ganga artis are held on every Tuesdays in front of idol of Ganga Maata and Ganga river.

Sarnath is located 13 kilometres north east of Varanasi city and one of the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage center in India. Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Sarnath and the city is part of buddhist circuits pilgrimage tours.
For Buddhists, Sarnath or Isipatana is the four pilgrimage sites, other three being Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya and Lumbini. Ancient buildings and structure in Sarnath or Isipatana are Dharmarajika Stupa,Dhamek Stupa,Ashoka Pillar and Sarnath Archeological Museum.
