Very good article illustrating the beautiful places to visit in Maharashtra. Last year we stayed at MTDC Mahabaleshwar and we had a fantastic time. This hotel is 5 star recommended. They had everything that would expect from a family holiday destination.

If you want to visit a place very close to Mumbai or Pune which is untouched and surely take close to nature it would be a bungalow called Sondela in Kamshet, its mesmerizing with the view.
