Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel or Chenani-Nashri Tunnel is located in the Lower Himalayas, on National Highway 44, is India’s longest road tunnel with a length of 9.28 km (5.8 mi)

Atal Tunnel – 9.02 km, Himachal Pradesh

Atal Tunnel also known as Rohtang Tunnel, built under the Rohtang Pass in Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas on the National Highway 3 in Himachal Pradesh.

Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel – 8.45 km, Jammu and Kashmir

Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel at elevation of 1,790 m is one of the longest tunnel in India, with a length of 8.45 km.

Chattergala Tunnel – 6.8 km, Jammu and Kashmir

Chattergala Tunnel, is an under Construction road tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir, The Z-Morh Tunnel is another under-construction 6.5 km long 2-lane road tunnel.

Currently Pir Panjal Railway Tunnel is the longest railway tunnel in India by 11.215 kilometres. Only tunnels on the main Indian Railways network are listed.

Patalpani Rail Tunnel – 14.000 Km, Madhya Pradesh

Tunnel T49 – 12.758 Km, Jammu and Kashmir

Saheibung Tunnel (T-12) – 11.550 Km, Manipur

The new 11.55 km long rail tunnel between Senapati and Imphal on Jiribam–Imphal line will be the India’s longest tunnel of 2024. The Indian Railways is also constructing the world’s tallest bridge pier in Manipur as a part of this 111 km long Jiribam-Imphal railway project.

Pir Panjal Railway Tunnel – 11.215 Km, Jammu and Kashmir

The Banihal-Qazigund Railway Tunnel is known as Pir Panjal railway tunnel in Jammu–Baramulla line of Kashmir Railway. Currently Jammu–Baramulla line has the 359 m (1,178 ft) tall Chenab Bridge, which is the tallest railway bridge in the world.
